KIZUNA Cultural Booths — experience Japanese culture.
Tea Ceremony: Nodate (野点) Kizuna members have been practicing tea ceremonies year-round. Here at Spring Festival, please join us to experience a peaceful and less formal NODATE (open-air tea ceremony ). Enjoy matcha green tea with Japanese sweets.
Calligraphy: Kizuna members practice calligraphy all year round. You can ask to write your name in black ink calligraphy at the booth. 1000s of colorful papers decorated with origami are handmade, and prepared by Kizuna volunteers, especially for this festival.
Origami: Those beautiful origami ornaments start with flat paper, folded multiple times to become each part that is assembled to become one. It is an iconic object of “Kizuna.” There is a lot of time and effort in creating them. Those colorful ornaments are available for purchase.
Kimono Experience: Kizuna offers the experience of wearing kimono here at the festival. You can choose Yukata, cotton kimono, and matching obi, our volunteers will put them on you! Smile and snap photos!
Ikebana: Sogetsu Ikebana master, Kika Shibata is here to offer an Ikebana workshop.
